This is the second version I did of this painting, a mash-up of the Choose Your Own Adventure books and the classic Atari game Adventure. I loved them both as a kid, especially the video game. I was really of the last pinball generation, so my video-game love stopped with the Atari 2600.

The first one I did, which was acrylic on canvas, got lost in the mail on its way to an art show.

For this one, I painted over an actual ‘80s Choose Your Own Adventure book. I even hid an easter egg in it, since Adventure was the first video game to have one. I modeled it after Warren Robinett’s in-game version.

Acrylic and Posca on the book and canvas. Measures 9” x 6”
