This is my brain on milk.
This painting is a map of my brain.
It started out when I got the idea I wanted do something with the milk carton kids. So then I thought about who was missing and I came up with the six-fingered man from The Princess Bride. I love the character of Inigo Montoya and his lifelong quest to find the six-fingered man, with at least one detour into drunkenness and depression. And of course you know I love ‘80s wrestling, so my mind jumped to Andre the Giant. And that made me jump to Shepard Fairey Obey and the lettering on that made me think about my other favorite wrestler Rowdy Roddy Piper and the incredibly prophetic and deep scene in They Live when he finds these glasses that show the subliminal messages that keep us sheep. And those messages are in black-and-white just like the old generic food products from the ‘80s which made me think of one of my favorite movies ever Repo Man and every store in that movie has nothing but generic food and finally between the scene in that movie where Duke and Debbie say they want to go do some crimes (“get sushi and not pay”) I thought about crimes and milk which brought me to Alex and his Droogs going to the Milk Bar for some “moloko” after a night of crimes in A Clockwork Orange.
