As a Gen X kid, I often think about all the things I thought would kill me, such as spontaneous human combustion and quicksand, as well as things that probably could or should have killed me, such as hitchhiking and lawn darts.

I also collected baseball, Star Wars, and other cards as a kid, so I created this set of 30 cards in an homage to that phase of my life. I even wrote things on the back like the old cards I used to collect. This might be the most popular painting I’ve ever done.

Finally, I named the set after the cult flick Faces of Death. I hope you saw it in your friend’s basement on the VCR stoned out of your mind like I did.
