Vinyl #1: The Mr. Furley Experience

In the words of The Velvet Underground “my life was changed by rock ‘n’ roll.” I began with classic rock like The Beatles, The Doors, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, and Jimi Hendrix. Then I mixed in a little heavy metal like Black Sabbath and AC/DC and then graduated to punk, which any self-respecting rocker knows was just rock ‘n’ roll in it’s next evolution. And if you don’t believe me listen to Johnny Thunder play the guitar or Iggy and The Stooges then call me back.

This is the first in my Vinyl series, a tribute to both the music that made me and the other stuff that consumer culture jammed down my throat during the same era. And what better than Three’s Company? I mean someone pretending to be queer to scam cheap rent, living with a classic “ditzy blond” and trying to pull a fast one on the legendary Don Knotts? Jack, Chrissy, and Janet never would’ve gotten away with it against the Apple Dumpling Gang.

Oh and also I was in a band called Huge Poo and the Mr. Furley Experience so this also goes out to my best buds and bandmates.
